Pay on your terms using our Pre-Paid Metering Service Program

Easily monitor your electric usage and stay up to date with daily reminders and updates with the Pre-paid Metering program. Go green with no monthly statement and maintain your balance by adding $20 or more at any time.

Getting Started

Members can enroll in the program by opening an account with a minimum initial credit balance of $100. Payments of $20 or more can be made at any time.
  • Meter readings are taken daily at 9:30 a.m., and the corresponding fee is deducted from the account balance. Monthly service charges are proportionately calculated and included in the daily deduction.
  • Members will be notified based on their chosen alert preferences
  • Accounts with a balance of $0 following the daily read will be disconnected on weekdays, excluding holidays.

Account Management

Members are responsible for monitoring their accounts to ensure the balance does not reach $0. Members can monitor and add funds to their account at any time through the SmartHub app or online portal, in person at the REMC office during normal business hours or by calling the REMC Automated System.

If the balance reaches 0, disconnection will occur after the member has been alerted through their selected notification options. A $10 initial balance will be required to start service again.

Please note that by enrolling in the prepaid metering program, members will be ineligible for payment arrangements. This program is not available to members enrolled in the budget billing program. Remote meter accessibility is preferred but not required.
